Honest Review – The INSLAW Affair: Investigative Report by The Committee on The Judiciary Together With Dissenting and Separate Views
August 11th, 2011 Filed under: Online Bankruptcy — Bankruptcy Author
Did Reagan-era Attorney General Edwin Meese aid his cronies to steal the legendary PROMIS software, the “Prosecutors Management Information System” developed with funding by the Law Enforcement Assistance Administration? Was Meeses purpose to take advantage of nearly 3 billion dollars worth of automated data processing upgrade contracts planned to be awarded by the Department of Justice during the 1980s? The House Judiciary Committee of 102nd Congress, headed by Chairman Jack Brooks, Texas Congressman, concluded that there appears to be strong evidence that the Department of Justice acted willfully and fraudulently, took, converted and stole, INSLAW’s Enhanced PROMIS by trickery, fraud and deceit. It appears that these actions against INSLAW were implemented through the project manager from the beginning of the contract and under the direction of high level Justice Department officials. Issued by the US Gov’t Printing Office in 1992, but no longer available from the GPO, this is a legendary document now available on Kindle through the efforts of the American Buddha Online Library Chief Librarian, Tara Carreon.
